It seems to me that the connection between programming and maths is often under-emphasized, with some people claiming that maths is not even necessary when learning to code.
I disagree. From positioning items on the screen to dealing with complex simulations of the laws of physics in animated games, not to mention the problem solving skills and attitudes so necessary in both, I consider these subjects to be deeply connected. Furthermore, looking at each through the perspective of the other deepens and broadens our understanding of both.
I teach both Maths and Computer Science. Since 98% of UK schools have opted to use Python for the programming component of CS, that is the language which I mostly teach, although if students particularly want to learn web technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript and PHP than I can teach those as well.
